Karl Thomas (he/him), MA

Are you trying to be a great parent, a loving partner, and a top performer at work—while still remembering to sleep, eat something green, and maybe have a hobby? No big deal, right?

I'm Karl, a pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I work with men who are juggling the very real pressures of work, relationships, fatherhood, and identity.

Whether you’re having the same argument about dishes (again), worrying you’re messing up your kids, or feeling like life’s treadmill is permanently set to “sprint,” I’m here to help you slow down, catch your breath, and reconnect with yourself.

How I Work

I specialize in anxiety, depression, parenting, LGBTQIA+ issues, and couples therapy. My approach is grounded, curious, and real—I believe change is possible, even if it feels out of reach right now. I’m trained in Brainspotting, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Psychological First Aid, and I tailor my work to fit your specific needs. And yes, we’ll laugh sometimes—because growth doesn’t have to be grim!

Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to pretend you’ve got it all figured out. My clients get to be honest, heard, and supported as we sort through what matters most to you. If you’re tired of white-knuckling your way through life, let’s talk. You’ve been carrying a lot—maybe it’s time to set some of it down.

My Background

I recently completed my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Being a therapist is a second career for me; my first was in the healthcare and hospitality industries, primarily in the fields of customer experience, leadership development, and training.
